UCAZ Strategic Plan Review Workshop: Shaping the Future of Urban Governance

The Urban Councils Association of Zimbabwe (UCAZ) will hold a Strategic Plan Review Workshop on 7–8 January 2026 in Kadoma. This important meeting follows the Strategic Plan 2024–2028 formulated in 2024 in Bulawayo.
The primary objective of this workshop is to review progress on the strategic plan and develop a focused annual plan for 2026. This process ensures that UCAZ’s vision and mission responding to emerging challenges and opportunities in local governance, chiefly the second republic’s policy direction as guided by National Development Strategy (NDS2).
Representatives from the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works are expected to participate, as well as different stakeholders whose work link them with UCAZ’s.
Focus will also be on 2024–2025 period achievements against the strategic plan, refinement of programmes, outputs, and outcomes as outlined in the 2024–2028 framework, formulation of the 2026 Annual Plan and setting clear priorities for the year ahead.
This workshop underscores UCAZ’s commitment to strengthening local authorities, promoting sustainable urban development, and enhancing service delivery for communities across Zimbabwe.
