Most local authorities have met the June deadline for submission of masterplans. Out of the 92 local authorities in Zimbabwe, 86 have submitted their draft masterplans to the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works before the 30 June deadline. The directive to develop Masterplans was issued by Hon Winston Chitando, then Minister of Local Government and Public Works in January this year at the first ever interaction with planners from the 92 local authorities.
