The Urban Councils Association of Zimbabwe, the Local Government Association of Zambia (LGAZ) the international cities platform Connective Cities and the GIZ have establish a partnership under the dialogue event “Improving public service delivery at local level – solutions for participatory and accountable management”.  Connective Cities brought together urban practitioners from Sub-Sahara Africa and Germany to meet at  in Harare, Zimbabwe from 20th to 22nd of August 2019.

The international cities platform, Connective Cities and its partners, the Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the German Association of Cities (DST) and Engagement Global gGmbH/ Service Agency Communities in One World (SKEW), invited UCAZ and LGAZ to take part in ta Study Tour to Bonn and Berlin in Germany. The study tour is a follow up to the dialogue event jointly organized by Connective Cities and UCAZ in Harare in August 2019. The aim is to further develop the understanding of the roles and functions of local government associations for improving service delivery and good local governance and is implemented in cooperation with the GIZ project “Strengthening the Urban Councils Association of Zimbabwe ” in Zimbabwe. This a typical North-South collaboration that should benefit the three Associations in various areas of service delivery to their membership.
